FAITH FORMATION as we now call it... Religious Ed or CCD as it was once known

Our grade level weekly sections offer students in grades 1 – 5 the opportunity to learn about our faith with other students their own age.   The weekly grade level sessions are dependent on having enough catechists.  Since we limit section population to ten students per catechist, we will be able to fill each grade section with the first ten students who register.  We will place any “overflow” on a “WAITING and HOPING” list.  Please let us know ASAP if you are interested in helping so we can offer more than one section per grade level depending on need.

Much of the success of this program is dependent on recruiting and training enough volunteers for the number of children who might like to participate.

FAITH FORMATION SUMMER LEARNING LAB 2012

The 2012 edition of FAITH FORMATION SUMMER LEARNING LAB will be held the week of July 16 - 20. This marks the third year we will be offering this option. IN 2010, the program for students in grades 1 - 8 attracted over 50 students. In 2011, we hosted 80 students. We will be meeting Monday through Friday from 9 AM until 12 noon learning about our Roman Catholic faith in the air-conditioned atmosphere of Dougherty Hall. Registration forms are available at the Parish Administration Center and on this website.
This summer program is meant for students who have difficulty "fitting-in" religion along with all the other academic year activities September until May, as well as those who would like to "go deeper" in studying their religion than what they have time for during the school year. This summer option also allows us to draw on the wonderful talents of many adults in education and other careers who don't have time to volunteer for one more thing during the school year.
So, if you're an adult who would like to spend five mornings this summer sharing your faith, or if you are a student who would like to spend a week in a structured environment learning more about our Roman Catholic faith, let Deacon Claude know of your interest and availability: clester@dor.org
Once again, because of facility space, we will need to limit this program to 80 students, first come, first served.

If any adult is interested in being a catechist in either program this year, please contact Deacon Claude

All adults who participate in our programs have completed the diocesan “Safe Environment” procedures; new volunteers must complete the process before beginning their service.
